The Core Importance of Leadership Development

The central element for the existence of an organization; in my view, are the Leaders who have created the culture of the organization. What is the legacy a particular leader wants to leave for that particular organization? In essences, in most instances when such an organization is driven by the initial philosophy of a particular founder of a company; it then becomes the true moral fiber of that company, or as some have said, the “backbone” of the organization. That is what leaders do they commit their whole soul to influence others to follow them in pursuit of excellence and success. The core central importance to leaders is the issues of progress in the execution of delivery of services or commodities with the vision that, no one is better at providing a particular product and services to that product than the company they lead. Take a look at the successful corporations and observe how their leaders have left a major influence on their organization such as: Microsoft, Forbes, Nordstrom’s, Ford Motor Company and the Disney Corporation. These organization were all founded on the principals of a particular philosophy created by their founders and instituted their beliefs within the protocols of the business for other to follow and abide by; in essence it is the cultural they created on, what I call the core importance of leadership development.

The mandate to implement such influences becomes a participative process of understanding that in order to lead, leaders must become teachers. And, so therefore they become masters at not only teaching but molding a comprehensive business oriented curriculum with the concepts of educational enrichment. The role leaders aspire become ingrained with the tasks of fostering relationships amongst key players of the organization; so that they too become teachers of the philosophical principals of the chief leader; which then the creation of a leadership team has been formed to executive the mission of the organization. Again, the bottom line progress, success, and profits as without profit no one gets paid and bonus will be a thing of the past and no one likes that. This is what I called in organizational development and management the “pyramid layered application of leadership,” it is the same concept as the trickle-down economics theory affects; it has a domino effect.

The central factor in addition to leadership influence and teaching is the support component. Leadership core competencies will never be reached without providing the needed tools for success. This concept stands true in practically all areas of leading. The most notable is in military operations, imagine leading without the proper equipment, soldiers would be vulnerable and the lost of life’s would be at stake. The same goes for education without the proper tools Students would have a difficult time learning and the gap between teacher and Student would extend to the point of unimaginable proportions. Ongoing training and developmental is critical as the central point of progress, success and profit.

With leaders at the forefront of thinking process are the issues of innovation. Innovation and creativity are always factors that play a role in driving an organization onward toward progress success and profit, they must always be three steps ahead of their competition, not one but three, as they are individual with foresight and are constantly pre planning and evaluation the surrounding circumstances, particularly that of the counterparts. What is always being sought out is professional growth at all levels. Smart leaders are always concern about the well being of their staff and typically attempt to provide them with the best care possible from all perspectives.
