Spiritual Counseling – Return Of The Goddess

The planet Earth and the human race that lives in it is in dire need of balance. We live in a time where we need to remember more than ever before in our history. Evolution for the Next Human is not a luxury but a matter of survival. As we approach the end of the Mayan calendar on December 21, 2012, we are finding our tribe at a crossroads on its journey to enlightenment.

The impersonal, caring and creative energy of the Goddess or Divine Feminine has been missing from our culture for a long time. But few people know that the holy He has been part of all the teachings of the ancient religion and is still in the doctrine of “patriarchal” religion today. In Christianity, the power of the Goddess is represented by the three elements of the Holy Trinity, known as the Holy Spirit. Both Mary Magdalene and Mother Mary also represent the divine feminine.

In Hinduism, the sacred woman is represented by several goddesses such as Shiva (the goddess of death and rebirth), Kali (the dark goddess of transformation) and Shakti. (goddess of creativity). The ancient Hebrew name of the creator, Yahweh, contains in it the divine male (Yah) and female (weh). In Islam, the daughter of Allah is Allat, which is also another name for the Sumerian goddess of the underworld, Ereshkigal. Buddhism has many goddesses and some of my personal favorites are Kuan Yin (the goddess of compassion), and Tara (the goddess of peace and freedom). The origins of goddess worship actually date back to earlier recorded history such as the Venus of Willendorf figure dating to 22,000 BCE.

So what, you may ask, is the importance of the goddess? And why is it so important to reintroduce the divine feminine into our spiritual direction? The key word is balance. For the past five thousand years, we have been living in a predominantly patriarchal, left-brain, mental state. It has led to a hierarchical structure where the have-the-rules outweigh the have-nots. Adults know very well that you cannot realize your higher self without being in the equation of God. It is important to note here that the word “God” has both male (god) and female (ess) sound vibrations.

Many people believe that matriarchy is the opposite of patriarchy. Not so. Matriarchal themes refer to the complete balance of God and her symbols can be found throughout the art of ancient Egypt. For example, in the drawing of Tutankhamun’s throne, the king wears the right sandal while Queen Ankhesenamun wears the left, indicating that they will walk the path of life together as one from above nature with holy men and holy women in harmony.

In ancient Egyptian art, gods and goddesses are often depicted holding the crook, flail, and/or scepter in various combinations. The crook represents the balance of thought (the astral body), the flail represents the balance of the mind (the mental body), and the scepter symbolizes the balance of the body (the physical body ). The ancient Egyptians believed that it is important to balance our body before one can achieve a higher state of consciousness, and it is the healing and balancing of our body plus the etheric body (seven chakras) which opens the door to enlightenment. You will also notice that in Egyptian art, the gods and goddesses constantly hold the scepter (staff, wand, rod) in the air – it never touches the ground. This shows the fact that we are, in fact, spiritual souls having a world bound or physical experience. You can’t escape the truth below, even though some people give it their best shot.
